Over the last decade, Duffy has taught ten different undergraduate or graduate courses across programs in Communication, Media Studies and Production, Feminist, Gender & Sexuality Studies, and Advertising. Three of these were newly developed courses: Gender and Media, a junior- and senior-level course addressing the intersection of communication, culture, and identity through an examination of gender and the U.S. media system; Advertising and Society, an undergraduate seminar that examines historical and critical perspectives on consumer culture; and Media Industries and Creative Labor in a Digital Age, a doctoral-level seminar designed to critically examine the social and industrial contexts in which cultural products are created and distributed.
